Chapter Two
Claire stood still wishing with all her heart that the guy she was looking at isn’t the one in her dreams but it all shattered when he looked up, searching until his wandering gaze descended on her and Alicia.
“He has seen us, so we better put our plan into action”Alicia said as she began to pull Claire.
“I reall……I really think that this plan wouldn’t work Alicia. Forget I came, forget I had this terrible idea, I will leave now” Claire said as she turned to leave only to be stopped by Alicia
“What the hell are you saying! You are my only hope now and he has seen us already”Alicia said pulling her back
“I…can’t…I really can’t….No Alicia… Alicia No….”Claire protest died away when Alicia pulled her towards the stranger table.
She hid behind Alicia, wishing she was some where else.
Her only hope about the dream was that she had never met the stranger before but all that is changing right now.
“Sorry that I kept you waiting for long”Alicia said trying to pull Claire who was still hiding behind her.
“It’s no problem at all”He said softly.
His voice is just the same, just like she heard it in her dream, she thought as she tried to fend off Alicia Manuoverve to pull her out to the open.
“Well I would like you to meet some one…she….will you just stop this!”Alicia muttered at Claire as she finally pulled her from her hiding place.
“I would like you to meet Claire Maxwell, Claire this is Andrew,Andrew Black. He is the CEO of Black corporation “Alicia did the introduction.
“Nice to meet you Claire,Am Andrew Black” He said stretching out his hand.
Seeing his outstretched hand made her remember the way he stretched his hand at her during the wedding.
“I don’t…..”Claire stopped in mid sentence and that’s because the face she stared up to was the epitome of beauty that is if he can be referred to as some one beautiful.
Seeing him this close made her realise that he is very very handsome. A girl could certainly get lost in his eyes, well not her, she thought as she thought as she shaked her head furiously and chose to ignore his outstretched hand.
“And am Claire, Claire Maxwell and it’s not like you would have heard that name from some where, let’s all have our seat” she said coolly as she sat down quickly.
She knew that Andrew and Alicia were both starring at her in a strange way but she didn’t care, all she had to do was to act her part and leave as soon as possible.
He didn’t recognise her and after today, they wouldn’t be seeing each other. So she should just relax and play her part and then head home, away from him and every thing that has to do with him.
“I was told that I would be having a date with just one person… “he began softly starring at the two ladies sitting in front of him.
“Well about that , I would like to apologise to you first Andrew. If I had known that this was going to be a date and not a business deal as my father made me believe, I would never have come but it’s a good thing I ran into Claire here…you see… we both…..I am a…. I don’t know how to say this to you but I …..”
“She is a lesbian….oh if I should rephrase that, we both are a Lez”Claire cut in helping Alicia to finish what she was trying to say.
Andrew Black was quite silent for a while, He stared at Alicia and then at Claire who was dressed like a boy.
The male jeans and polo shirt she was wearing accompanied with Nick cap to hold all her hair in it made her look boyish.
It certainly would convince Andrew that they both were Lesbian.
“You see her father doesn’t know of her preference and he keeps on sending her on blind date all the time. We are really sorry if this inconvenienced you in any way”Claire said adding more salt to the lie .
Even if their path crossed again which she doubt, he would keep his distance from her because he knew what her preference is.
“I see. So what you are trying to say is that I shouldn’t talk about your lov….Miss Alicia preference to any one right?”He said getting the message
“Yes! Try to keep it a secret Mr Black. We both love each other and if each of our family knew what our preference is they will try to pull us apart and we don’t want that Mr Black, you have certainly love some one and felt this way before right?”Claire asked
‘Please say yes! Say that you have some one you love, who you are engaged to and that at least will stop me from thinking of this crazy things. Claire silently thought to herself
“If I had some one that I love or I am engaged to, I wouldn’t be on this date”He said starring at Claire who quickly averted her eyes from his.
He looked quite intimidating when he stared at her that way.
“Please don’t take this the wrong way, I never meant to be in this kind of situation, I also don’t like people knowing of my preference but since it has come to this, I just have to tell you”Alicia chipped in quickly.
” Fine then. I respect people wishes and preference and so if we have nothing more to discuss, I think we should end this meeting, I still have some meeting to attend to”He said as he stood up.
“We are really sorry for the inconvenience”Alicia said as she stood up pulling Claire up to her feet.
“There is no need to be sorry. I understand perfectly and my mouth is sealed Miss Alicia”He said and walked off with out a goodbye greeting to Claire which made Claire more happy.
He certainly didn’t like her and she was glad cause she also felt the same way and she was glad that he was gone. She won’t have to see him again, she thought happily to herself.
“That was a great idea Claire, he certainly bought the whole thing”Alicia said as she settled in her seat
“As a person working for an AD company, I have to come up with ideas almost everyday”Claire said as she pulled off the cap letting her black, long hair cascade down her back.
“This calls for a celebration”Alicia said having a mischievous smile on her face
“Of course it does and one more thing. This is the last time I help you out of your blind dates”Claire said softly
“Are you saying that for yourself or is it because of Ben?”Alicia asked
“Of course it’s for myself and I also don’t want Ben getting a hold of all the crazy things have been doing to help you get out of your blind date”Claire added hurriedly
“Well don’t worry, I won’t be needing your help anymore, am sure that dad would have get the message and also he would stop bugging me with this blind date thing “Alicia said
“I hope so”Claire muttered not really convinced
“Well then let’s go and celebrate or better yet should we visit Ben restaurant?”Alicia asked
“Not today, he will be busy preparing for the dinner reservation tomorrow”
“Dinner reservation?”Alicia asked
“As it seems, the new buyer of our company will be coming in tomorrow and so I suggested Ben restaurant for their dinner outing”Claire explained
“Oh….well Ben has a lot to thank you for, ever since he started that restaurant of his, you have been a great help to him”Alicia said as they both walked out of the restaurant
“Not really”Claire replied succinctly
“Yes you have been. You put help his way, even made a little bit of Advertisement for his restaurant and you help by being a waitress in his restaurant every day after work. That’s being a devoted lover and if he doesn’t see a great lady like you in front of him some one will snatch you up”
Well she didn’t like the bit of some one snatching her but she really hope that Ben will notice her someday.

“So how was yesterday date?”Mark Reed, Andrew personal assistant and best friend asked as he walked into Andrew office.
” Bad”Andrew who had been standing by the window sill replied as he turned to his friend.
“What went wrong?”Mark asked surprised that the date he had prepared with a lot of care had gone wrong.
“That lady you set me up with is into girls, you could at least have checked that before setting me up with her”Andrew replied haughtily.
He has never been in that kind of situation in his life. He has never met a girl who wasn’t bowled by his charm and handsomeness but having to face two lesbian yesterday certainly changed his point of view. They were actually girls who were immune to him and that isn’t what he wants. Not now when things are getting a bit hectic for him.
“But that’s not possible, Alicia is some one who is as straight as a tree, I wouldn’t have set you up with her if she was that kind of person”Mark said quickly
“Well you thought wrong this time. She even called in her lover, I felt like a fool”Andrew lashed out still furious
“Well am sorry! I will try to set another date with some one else but you will just have to give me a few more days to set you up with…..”
“Time….Time is what I don’t have Mark, you know having some one to take back to Australia with me is some thing very important. If there were any decent girl around, I would have picked out of them but I can’t , I need some one who would be willing to do it perfectly” Andrew said, Mark would have replied if the intrusion at the door hadn’t occur.
Andrew secretary walked in looking cool and professional as always.
“Am sorry to interrupt sir but it’s time for your evening meeting with Grand Advertising company”She said coolly.
“Thank you Celine”Mark replied and she left the office.
“You don’t need to worry about the date and all, I will set that up for you Andrew but first we must do what we came here to do and that is to Acquire Grand Advertising company, you will be having dinner with them this evening for further talk on negotiation”Mark said softly
“You are right, Business comes first but make sure you set the date right this time and I want some one straight”He said as he picked up his jacket which was layed on the top of his chair and head out of his office.
“The restaurant isn’t like the Michelin restaurant and grand palace you often visit back home, it’s a restaurant not so far from the AD company but from what people are saying about it, it’s quite good”Mark said as he read about the restaurant they were going to visit for the meeting.
“As long as the food is good and I get to buy those people out, I dont care where I eat” Andrew replied as he kept on working on his laptop.
Few more minutes went by and Mark finally drew a halt in front of the restaurant.
Claire got into the restaurant using the back door, she was late and it was all due to the fuss of the company buy out.
They had stayed in late to clear up some stuff and get every thing prepared for the new buyer who will be coming to check out their company tomorrow well that is if the negotiation tonight goes well.
Ben would have been waiting, she promised to make it on time to help him, after all the people coming for the meeting were from her company.
“Good evening Claire” the assisting chef’s whom Ben had hired all greeted her when she walked into the kitchen
“Evening every one, have you seen Ben?”She asked
“He is probably attending to the guest”The sous chef replied
“I better go and get ready then”She said heading to her locker to take her clothes, so she could changed.
She was dressed in her office attire which was a blue ankle length chiffon gown, she had her hair loose and a bit of make up in her face. She always dressed like this to work, wanting to give out a cool, sophisticated lady at work.
While her male colleagues think of her as sexy and sophisticated whenever she is dressed up Ben only sees her as his adorable friend.
She passed through the restaurant heading for the rest room, she could see Ben attending to a table.
It must certainly be the people from her company and also the new investors, she tried taking a peek, wanting to see the new buyer but she could only see one pair of new faces amongst them.
Quickly she dashed off towards the restaurant and in her rush she collided with some one, she would have fallen if he hadn’t held onto her.
She was still in his arms when she looked up at her rescuer only to see him again.
“You!!!”She yelled as she stood still in his arms starring at him in horror.
