Chapter Six
Alfred got to the bedroom with Fannie in his arms. He set her on her feet and stared at her before kissing her.
Fannie wanted to stop him but the desire burning within her withheld her back. She love him and this is right. She thought as he stopped kissing her to stare at her.
“Do you want me to go on?”He asked softly and she found herself nodding without hesitating for a minute.
While he took off her top, she dealt with the buttons of his shirt and lifting her into his arms. He carried her to the bed where he discarded the rest of their clothes. Making sweet passionate love to her.
Fannie woke up in the wee hours of the morning. Feeling pains in new places. She couldn’t believe she had given herself to Alfred. She smiled as she turned to find him sleeping soundly beside her.
They had made love till it was midnight. He must be tired she thought as she pushed a strand of hair away from his face.
She is inlove with him and though he only feels attracted to her. She is sure that she can get him to love back someday. He is her man now and she won’t let him go. If Tiffany didn’t like her then it’s her problem. As long as Alfred wants her with him. She would surely stay by his side. She thought as she turned to get out of bed only to be pulled back into his arms.
“Good morning”He murmured as he gave her a kiss.
“Morning. You seem tired. I didn’t want to wake you up”Fannie said as she gaze at him with all the love in her.
“Tired. I can make love to you again to show you that am not tired at all”he said jokingly.
“Hope I didn’t hurt you last night”He asked
“You didn’t. What am worried about is that we didn’t use protection”She said.
“Does it matter? We will be married In a few days and besides I want a lot of kids”he said caressing her stomach.
“Kids?”she asked a bit unsure
“What? Don’t tell me you don’t like them?” He asked.
“I love kids but isn’t that going a bit fast?”She asked
“It’s not. I want at least five kids. We could as well start now but if you don’t want to rush things. You can go to the hospital and get the necessary things. I won’t want to rush you into this”He said and she nodded. Content with this suggestion.
“Will you accompany me to the hospital?”she asked.
He was about to answer when he got a call. He answered and talked for a while on the phone before ending the call.
“Am sorry but something urgent just came up at the company. Seems like it will take a while”he said as he got out of the bed heading to the shower.
She was still in bed when he finished dressing up “Am sorry that I can’t come with you.This is my card use it for your expenses and also the guard will be waiting to take you to anywhere you want to go to. I promise to be back early”he said as he kissed her on the forehead before leaving the room looking exactly like the billionaire he is.
For a while Fannie had forgotten that they were both different in many ways and him looking smart in his office attire clearly reminds her of the difference between them.
Just as he said, she went to the hospital and went to purchase the things necessary for not getting pregnant. She even undergo some test to know if she was compatible with Alfred.
It was late in the afternoon that she got back from the hospital. Somehow her visit to hospital added more to her doubt and fears.
Getting a bottle of champagne. She was about drinking her sorrow away when the door bell rang.
She went to answer only for it to be Tiffany. She knew Tiffany won’t just let them be without doing a thing.
“I need to talk to you”She said still standing by the door way.
“Sure. Please come in”Fannie ushered her into the beach house.
“What would you like to have? You just name it and i will……”
“I didn’t come here to have anything. I came to discuss something very important”Tiffany replied cutting her off as she took her seat.
“If it’s about Alfred and me then I will tell you now that it’s only a waste of time because I love Alfred and am not about to lose him. You should try to give us a chance. I promise to make him happy and though am not worthy of being your brother wife. I can assure you of one thing, I will try to make him happy “Fannie said hoping that she had managed to convince Tiffany a bit.
“Really? You really are selfish. How can you consider staying with him after what happened today?”Tiffany questioned.
“What happened?”Fannie asked a bit puzzled.
“I got these report today. I had someone tailing you and he succeeded in bringing this to me” she said throwing a sheet at her.
“This was meant to be confidential”Fannie said starring at the sheet on the table.
“Nothing can be kept confidential under my watch. Now what do you say? Should we start talking about this or do you want to see Alfred life ruined because of you?”Tiffany asked and Fannie Shaked her head negatively.
“I don’t want his life ruined because of this”She said as the tears she had been holding back all day began to pour.
“Then let’s have a proper discussion” Tiffany offered.

Alfred got back late that day. The problem he had to deal with at work was quite hectic. Though it was something Tiffany could have handled, he thought as he put down his stuff.
Fannie was no where to be seen. Where is she? He thought as he searched around the house but there was no sign of her. He went to the beach and there was still no sign of her.
The guards didn’t know where she went to because she had told them to leave since she won’t be going out again. Where could she be? He thought as he took his car keys heading to the door when she walked in.
“Where have you been?”He asked feeling relieved at seeing her.
“I went to get some things at the convenience store. Have you been worried ?”She asked and instead of replying. Alfred walked towards her to give her a tight hug.
Just the thought of losing her devastated him. He knew he had said he didn’t believe in love but being with Fannie is changing that bit by bit.
“Don’t ever leave without saying a thing. I was so worried”He said as he stared at her.
“Am sorry for making you worry. I just had to get some things for you.”she said as she walked past him with the things she bought.
“What are those?”He asked.
“Just some daily necessity you might need”She said as she brought them out.
He stood by the counter watching her talk while she arranged the food items she bought.
“You haven’t eaten right? I will prepare some thing for you and ……”
“I already ate with some investors. What I want now is you “He said as he pulled her into his arms. Kissing her on the lips.
“Are you ever satiated?”She asked
“When it comes to you am never satiated”he replied as he kissed her again.
After making love in the kitchen. They decided to take a rest in the sitting room large sofa.
“You know. When I couldn’t find you a while ago. A lot of thought crossed my mind. I was scared that something bad might have happened to you and if it had. I wouldn’t have been able to forgive myself”Alfred said breaking the silence between them.
“You shouldn’t worry about me. Instead you should worry about yourself” She said as he tightened his hold on her.
“Why should I worry about myself? I have you here with me. I don’t have to worry about anything else”He replied.
“Really? Don’t tell me you are inlove with me cause you said you don’t believe in love”Fannie said jokingly.
“What If I do now?”He asked and she turned to stare at him.
“You can’t be. You said so yourself” she said
“When I said that I thought that love was an impossible thing but as things will turn out. Here I am madly in love with you. Hope you feel the same way?”He asked and she couldn’t respond because she burried her face in his chest. Crying softly.
“Are you like this because of what I said? Don’t you feel the same? “He asked feeling surprised by her reaction.
“I do. I do love you too and these are tears of joy”Fannie replied starring at him.
“Don’t ever leave me. “He said softly and feeling happy and excited about being in love for the first time. Alfred didn’t notice that Fannie didn’t give him a reply.
Feeling happy and reassured that every thing will be fine. He slept soundly with her in his arms.
But when morning came Fannie was no longer there and his search around the house proved to be futile.
He was about going out in search of her when he saw an envelope with his name on it placed by the door way.
He picked it up and read. “Am sorry that am conveying this message to you this way but this is the only way I can do it. I can’t get married to you. I thought about it and being tied to you is something I don’t want for now. If I told you that I want out of this marriage you wouldn’t let me since am your hostage. So I decided to leave. By the time you are reading this. I would have left the country. So don’t try looking for me. I hope we never meet again.
