Chapter Four
Claire layed on her bed having a dream, in that dream she saw herself being pushed against the door by some one.
She would have walked out of the room if he hadn’t been holding the door with his hand.
She looked up at a face which was blur, No matter how hard she try, Claire couldn’t see his face properly.
In the dream Claire gulped down forcefully and dared to ask “what are you doing?”
“Trying to show it to you! Trying to prove to you that you are not what you claim to be ” He said softly
“H…how do you …intend to show me?”Claire asked
He stared at her face for a while and then at her lips before giving her a smile, A very sly one at that.
“By kissing you”He muttered softly and before she could stop him, he kissed her and it was precisely that moment that she woke up.
She was glad to find her self in her room, what sort of dream is that and why couldn’t she get to see that person face.
She touched her lips and thought about the kiss. It couldn’t possibly be Andrew Black she was dreaming about.
A week has gone by now and she havent seen him. So the only person she could have been kissing is surely Ben.
Yes, Ben is the love of her life and he is the only one she could have allowed to kiss her.
With this thought in her head, Claire got out of bed feeling so happy and excited.
Judging from the date she had seen in the room in her dream, the kiss will be happening a few days from now.
Standing in front of the mirror, Claire pouted her mouth out, thinking of the way she was going to kiss him back once the time come.
” By kissing you”Claire said the same thing he said in her dream.
Holding her flushed cheeks, she grinned like a fool and moved to the glass, kissing it softly.
“I will enjoy kissing you too Ben” Claire mouthed before leaving her bath room to dress for work.
“Good morning grandma, Nick”She said as she walked into the room dressed in her most gorgeous and expensive outfit
“Morning darling”Celine replied
“You seem to be in a good mood”Nick asked starring at her
“Of course I am”Claire replied as she took a slice of bread to butter it up
“Did you win the lottery or some thing?”Nick asked
“Let’s just say some thing good will happen to me soon”Claire replied happily
“And what exactly could this some thing be? From what I know, you don’t gamble, having you at the idea team at your company is better than promoting you, Ben is still seeing Cindy, what again….uh maybe you had another dream about the stranger you got married to,I heard from grand ma that you met him not once but twice “Nick said
“Yes I did and luckily for me, he doesn’t know who I am which is some thing am very grateful for, as long as I don’t get to run into him again, My life will certainly be in order”She said as she bit into the bread.
“What if you do meet him again, who knows you might meet him today”
“Take that back!”Claire yelled at him, if he said some thing like that it might just happen.
“What?”
“You really are impossible Nick,I certainly won’t run into him again and for the record, I had saw my future with Ben this time around”Claire said happily as she thought about the kiss.
“Really Claire? What is the dream about”Her grandma asked Very much interested.
“Later grandma, I will tell you when I get back from work today”Claire promised as she picked up her bag and some folders.
“Never say never Sis,You might just meet him again”Nick said.
Claire picked up a bowl, throwing it at Nick who was fast in catching it.
“Instead of thinking about me, why not go after Alicia, I saw Alicia going out with your latest client, she was bowled over by his charms, he even gave her a kiss right here “Claire said pointing to her lips. She wanted to ruin Nick mood and she succeeded.
“What? Is it really true?”He asked starring at her
“As far as I know, other people future that have seen so far are always true, so my advice is that you try your best now, you now have a rival and one last gift from me, they are going to Ben restaurant tonight by seven”Claire said getting him more angrier.
“Good bye granny”She said blowing her a kiss as she left the house heading to work still on cloud nine.

“What!!! He rejected the proposal again”Claire asked as she stared at Grace,her colleague at the idea department.
“Yes he did, Andrew says that it lacks passion,he said he wants another one ” Grace replied as she sat at her own desk .
“This is the third proposal we have sent his way today. How long are we going to keep on cracking our brains just to satisfy him”Brenda another colleague commented.
So much for her being on cloud nine, she certainly landed back to earth when she came to work today.
They have been trying to come up with a new concept for a new project they just landed.
The idea they had first thought of had been rejected by their new boss.
He had sent word for them from his secretary that he needed another concept and the second and third idea they have thought of have also been rejected.
The three concept they have managed to come up with is the best and yet it’s not satisfying to their new boss.
Why is he even poking his nose in some thing that has nothing to do with him. all the new concept they think of is only graded by Luke.
How the new projects gets Into the company is the new boss job, didn’t he know that, she thought as she fought the urge to call his office directly.
“You know what I think! I think he doesn’t like us and so he is trying to make us suffer”Peter the only male amongst them said
“That’s absurd, we just met him the day before yesterday “Brenda replied quickly
“And he doesn’t strike me as some one who wastes his time by doing this”Grace added
“You girls aren’t seeing my point of view. At all other departments, every one was present to welcome him but in our department, Claire was the only one missing. He must have felt ridiculed, I myself wouldn’t like that”Peter said and they all stared at Claire.
“So what you are trying to say Is that he is doing this because I didn’t make it for the introduction?” Claire asked
“Maybe or maybe not, we will never know, all we know is that he is doing this on purpose”Peter said
Just then their new boss secretary walked in starring at Claire.
“He wants to see you Claire”She said
“Me?”
“You are the only Claire Maxwell I know in this company, so certainly it’s you”She replied and left the room expecting Claire to follow.
“I better go and talk to him,If he is doing this because I didn’t show up for the introduction then I have to do some thing about it”Claire said as she stood up
“We might have gone out to lunch when you come back, meet us at the cafeteria okay”Grace said after her and she nodded.
All through her journey to the top floor, Claire wondered what he wanted to say to her.
If he is angry about what happened during the introduction day, then he is some one petty, she thought as she got to his office.
His secretary announced her arrival and she was told to go in.
Claire walked into the room feeling a bit weird.she didn’t know why but her guts was telling her that she shouldn’t be here, that she should leave as fast as she could but Claire shrugged the feeling off, what could possibly happen to her?
He was sitted on his desk starring out through the big show glass, he had his back turned to her, so she couldn’t see his face.
“Good morning sir, you requested to see me”She said softly and when he didn’t answer she said again
“Am Claire Maxwell sir and you…..”
“I know who you are”He answered this time cutting Claire off
The voice ringed a bell, she thought as she kept starring at his back trying to see his face.
“I didn’t call you to talk about business Claire”he said again
“Then why did you call for me sir?”She asked.
“Its about what happened a week ago”He replied
“A week ago,Am sorry but I don’t get…..”
“Was it fun?”He asked suddenly
“What do you mean sir”Claire asked not getting him at all.
“Did you and your friend had fun fooling me”He said this time turning to her.
Claire gasped out loud when she saw her new boss. It was him! The same person she had wished never to see again.
“If you do meet him again, then there is some thing linking you two together”
At that precise moment her grandmother words came back to her.
“Glad to see me Miss Claire Maxwell or should I say Claire the lesbian”He said giving her a smile.
Andrew smiled with satisfaction, enjoying this moment,ever since he saw her the day before he has been wondering how their next encounter will be.
He never thought he would leave her this speechless and shocked, it truly is worth planning, he thought as he kept on starring at the shocked Claire.
“Got nothing to say?”He asked when her silence was getting too long .
He took a step towards her and before he knew it, she ran out of his office.
He has been wondering what her answer will be but never did he think this.
He might be angry at her but never will he stoop so low as to hit her, he thought and that made him more furious.
How dare she run away from him? Did she think he is a monster who will hit her just to get back at her. Well he certainly wouldn’t leave it like this, he thought as he went after her.
Claire got to her office still shocked by what happen a while ago.
Luckily her colleague were already out for lunch and it was just her in the office
Why did she have to meet him again, she thought as she layed her head on her desk.
Come to think of it, he had been at Ben restaurant on the day of the signing, so he was there to buy out their company, she thought.
She should have link the name together, though she never bothered to know the full name of the person who just acquired their company but there were signs, signs for her to see , signs which she had clearly ignored.
If she had known then she would never have gone to see him, she would have ignored him,she thought as she gently hit her head on the table.
“Did you and your friend had fun fooling me” His words came back to her.
Did he know that she and Alicia had lied about being a lez? She doubt it, she thought as she stood up,pacing around the room.
He was angry, definitely angry for being deceived. He would take it out on her, she better kiss her job goodbye, she thought as she cried out in frustration.
“Good morning sir”Claire heard some one greeting.
“Morning, this is the new concept department right?”She heard Andrew voice
And grew rigid.
It wasn’t until she heard his footsteps that she dashed to Mark desk, hiding under the desk and hoping with all her heart that he doesnt see her, she thought as she held in her breath.
She saw him walk in, he stood still starring around.
He would certainly leave once he sees that there is no one around but instead she saw his leg move towards the desk at the far end and that was her desk! She thought as she waited, listening to every move he made.
“Seems like she forgot her phone”he said and silently Claire cursed her self for not taking her phone. A phone which had no lock on it.
Andrew picked Claire phone and went through it, he was checking out her pictures when some thing caught his eyes through the glass.
He saw some one who definitely is Claire hiding under the desk.
Should he let her know , he thought and then changed his mind instead.
“Since she is not here and she left her phone, I better just get her number”he said out loud and exchange numbers.
Putting back the phone he left the office, smiling to himself.
Claire got out from the desk and after making sure that he was gone, she went to her phone.
“Now he has my number”She said as she checked her phone just then a message dropped.
“As soon as you see this message, call
Me, we have some things to talk about
And the next time you hide from some
One, find a safe place to do it, hiding
Under the desk doesn’t suit you”.
“What! Did he see me?”She said as she stared at the table and then at the glass.
“I can’t do any thing right!”She said out loud and took her seat again to brood over the situation.
