Chapter Three
“Wh….what do you mean by that?” Fannie asked as she waited for his response.
He stared at her face then at her body. His gaze lingered long on her breast before returning to her face.
Fannie shivered in fear knowing what his gaze on her body meant. She tried to move out of his arms only to be pulled closely into his arms.
“What are you doing?”She asked as she tried to move out of his arms.
“Checking out something”He replied as his hands drifted onto her buttocks.
“What do you think you are doing! Let go of me!”She yelled as she tried to pull his hand off her.
“I told you that you would have to pay the price for decieving me. Keeping you here as my hostage and making you my lover will certainly make up for what you and Camila did”He said to her.
“You…..you can’t mean that”She said as she tried to pull away but he tightened his hold on her.
“I will be staying here for a while longer. I have business to attend to and having someone to warm my bed while I stay here wouldn’t be a bad idea. You are not that bad afterall. Though Camila innocence had been what attracted me. Have been celibate waiting for the day of our marriage but the marriage have been called off and since am a hot blooded male. I don’t think I will be able to resist this little body of yours”He said with a evil grin.
“You are crazy! Let me go! Let go of me!”She yelled as she tried to pull free. Panicked by what he said.
“Stop trying hard cause whether you like it or not. We are going to be lovers”He said and before she could say another word. The big cardigan that had been draped over her top was pulled off.
“Well, well , well. You do have a delectable body. Seems like I got myself a sexy lover”He said as he enjoyed her discomfort.
She pushed at him and he let go. She ran up the stairs, going into his room and locking the door.
When she had decided to help Camila. She didn’t think that it was going to resort to this. He wants to make her his real lover. Just the thought of being forced to be intimate with him made her shudder. She had to think of a way to get out of this mess.
She didn’t get the chance to think of something because the door opened and the devil walked holding the keys to the door and having that devilish grin on his face.
Quickly she moved towards the window ready to jump out for the second time when he pulled her back. He carried her, moving towards the bed to dump her there.
She moved away from him while he stood watching her..
“There is no escape from me my little thief. It’s either you give yourself to me or I just force you”He said
“That’s being a coward. Forcing yourself on someone is not a thing a gentleman will do”She said this hoping it would change his mind somehow.
“Gentleman? “He questioned harshly and when she didn’t give a reply, he continued.
“I stopped being a gentleman when I found out of your crazy little plan with Camila. Have been patient with you enough. Now let’s get down to business, afterall you told Camila parents that we are lovers. Am just trying to make that a reality”He said moving into the bed.
Fannie got out of the bed, heading to the door but he caught hold of her and pushed her against the wall. He began kissing her throat while his hands roamed over her body.
Fannie tried pushing him away but he was too strong. “Let me go! Let me go please”She begged but he was far from listening.
“Let me go! Please don’t do this! Don’t hurt me!”She cried when he began to unbutton her top.
“Please stop it”She begged as a tear slid from her eye dropping into his hand.
Alfred moved back to stare at her and when he saw the tears on her face. He moved away from her. He watched her slid to the floor crying, while she clutched her open top to herself.
He was angry and had wanted to get back at her but this isn’t his style. He isn’t someone who forces himself on the opposite sex.
He moved towards her and carried her crying form into his arms. Taking her to the bed. He layed her on it and covered her with the sheets.
“Rest for a while”He said and left the room after making sure the window was locked.
Fannie woke up to find herself in an unfamiliar room. For a while she was confused and wondered what she was doing in a luxurious room when the recent happenings from hours ago came back to her.
The first thing she checked was her clothes and she sighed in relief when she found her clothes still on her . Thinking of what almost took place a while ago got her scared. He had been angry and she had been sure that he would go ahead with it but he had stopped and had surprised her more by what he did.
Did he do all that just to get her scared, she thought as she got out of the bed. She had to leave before he thinks of doing something much more worse to her. It was night already, she must have slept for a very long time. She thought as she quietly walked down the stairs.
There was no sign of him anywhere and so she dashed to the front door. She was glad to find it unlock and was excited when she walked out of the house only to find two guards standing at the entrance.
“Sorry miss but you will have to go in” one of the guard said.
“But I…..”
“We’ve been told to keep an eye on you and another order that had been given was that you aren’t allowed to leave. So please go back in”The other guard said.
Knowing she was defeated, she went back in only to see him standing in front of a door way starring at her.
“Escaping again ?”He asked and she remembered what transpired between them earlier.
“I wasn’t trying to escape. I just wanted some……some fresh air”She lied quickly.
“I would be a fool to believe you again”He said as he went into the room. She went after him and was surprised to see the room littered with sheets while he worked on his laptop.
“This place is a mess”She said as she walked in.
“Have been trying to search for a certain file but have been unsuccessful”He said
“If you tell me what file you are looking for then I can help you”She said as she began to arrange the paper.
Fannie was busy sorting out the sheet that she didn’t notice the surprise look he sent her way.
While he worked on his laptop. She sorted out the sheets. Finding the file he needed amidst the sorting.
She sighed contentedly when she finished arranging the stuff and the room was back to order.
“You enjoyed doing that?”Alfred found himself asking when he noticed her satisfaction in sorting out the files.
“Am a dexterous person. I happen to enjoy doing menial tasks and besides am a clean freak. Once i see a room in disarray, I do my best in restoring it back. It’s something I enjoy and besides am a maid who do all this thing”She said totally forgetting her relationship with him.
“Your a maid? How come you are close friends with Camila. Fiona certainly strike me as someone who wouldn’t let dirt fall on her precious daughter”He asked
“Well she was against our friendship at first. Your right in assuming that about Camila mother. She hated me because I was close to her daughter and she couldn’t kick me out because she had promised my grandma that she will take care of me”She said.
“She didn’t like me being close to her daughter but Camila was adamant and Fiona just had to give In”She added forgetting for a while that she was talking to the enemy.
“So you didn’t mind stealing just to help her?”He asked.
“I didn’t steal and besides she couldn’t say no to her parents. The wedding was their idea and she’s always weak when it comes to her parents and so we thought of this to stop the wedding. Am sorry that we had to take it far but we had no choice”Fannie said pouting her lips. Something that got Alfred starring at her.
“So you won’t mind doing this kind of thing for her again?”He asked trying to concentrate on their conversation.
“I won’t. She is the only friend have got. The only one who treated me like an equal even though I am just a maid and besides you won’t be holding this against me for ever. Why don’t you let me leave?”She said hoping that he would.
“Like I said someone have got to pay for making a fool out of me and you will be the one doing that. So you can’t leave. The guards positioned outside…….”He stopped when she moved towards him. She touched his lips, cleaning something off it.
“Am sorry but you had something on it. Am a clean freak remember”She said as she was now seated on the sofa beside him.
It took a while for Alfred to calm his raging hormones. “Aren’t you scared of me? Have you forgotten what happened earlier?”He asked trying to intimidate her which worked.
“I do remember and i hope you won’t have to resort to that again”She said looking a bit worried.
Some how he found himself wanting ease her fears away. “You don’t have to worry. I don’t force myself on someone. It’s the other way around”He replied and a smile lit her beautiful face.
“As long as you are here. I won’t touch you only if you change your mind and want me to”He added.
“You can be assured that that will never happen. Thanks for telling me that. I feel so relieved”She said excited.
“Even though you will be an hostage?”He asked.
“As long as you stick to your word. I don’t mind staying here as your hostage. I can even be of use to you. They won’t want me at the Campbell residence anymore. So I will think of this place as my new work place “She said getting up
“Thank you for being a gentleman”She said as she gave him a smile before leaving the room.
Alfred sat still long after she was gone wondering why his heart wouldn’t stop beating fast.

It was late in the night and Fannie layed on the bed still finding it hard to sleep. She knew she had come to a certain term with Alfred but she still feel uneasy.
The door opened and Alfred walked in, looking haggard.
“What are you doing here?”She asked
“Isn’t this place my room?”he asked in return.
“It is but since am using it, you should use the other room”She said
“This is the only room in this house and dont expect me to use the sofa. Am not going to”He said as he began to unbutton his shirt.
“Then I will use the sofa”She said as stood up wanting to leave but he stopped her.
“Just stay here.Its been a long day for me. I just need some rest”He said as he began to unbuckle his belt.
Knowing he would pull it off right in front of her, she quickly went back to the bed. Facing the wall so she wouldn’t see him.
She felt the bed depress and she knew he was getting into the bed. As soon as he falls asleep, she would leave for the sofa. She was thinking only to be pulled into his arms.
“What are you doing?”she asked
“Trying to get some sleep”He returned
” You promised that you won’t touch me only if I….”
“Just sleep. Am too tired to argue with you”He said as he tightened his hold on her.
Fannie stayed still In his arms, thinking he was asleep only to hear him ask.
“By the way, what’s your name?”
“What?”she asked a bit surprised that he didn’t know her name
“Your name. I still don’t know your name”He said
“It’s Fannie, Fannie Madison” She replied
“Fannie. I like it”He muttered and somehow hearing him call her name made her feel warm. She closed her eyes and in a matter of time, she was asleep.
